Find the length of a YouTube playlist

Start with the playlist link

Open the playlist on YouTube and copy a link that includes list=. A link to the playlist page and a video link with a list parameter both identify the playlist. YouTube Music links also work when their playlist is accessible.

Paste up to five links on separate lines. You can mix playlists and individual videos. When two links identify the same playlist, the calculator shows a duplicate notice and counts it once.

1. Paste the link in the calculator.
2. Leave the range on Full playlist for a first overview.
3. Press Calculate length and check the result for that input.

Read time and coverage together

A total such as 27:15:40 means 27 hours, 15 minutes and 40 seconds. Hours do not wrap back to zero after a day. The counted total includes only entries with usable video durations.

For example, a list may have 80 entries but only 78 usable durations. Those two missing entries keep their positions and are identified separately. The available time is useful, but it cannot tell you the duration of inaccessible content.

Know when to load more

A long list may need multiple calculation segments. Use Load next segment when it is offered, and keep the page open while continuing. The total stays labelled partial until the requested coverage has been obtained.

The fetched timestamp shows the age of the data. Public results may be reused from a one-hour cache. If the playlist is actively changing, its titles, counts or order can differ from what you saw earlier on YouTube.

Use the number for the right decision

For a music mix, 1× gives the source listening time. For a course, a faster speed can help estimate video watching, but exercises, pauses and notes need their own allowance. The calculator measures available video time; it does not measure learning time.
